Toulouse 2019 - 17th - 20th September 2019

The Aviation Society are delighted to announce a 4 day break to the European Centre of Aviation – Toulouse! The World Headquarters of Airbus Industries and home of the exceedingly busy ATR, A320, A330, A350 and A380 production lines.

We have organised a superb hotel with Approach / Departure views, daily visits (included in tour price) to various photo spots around the airport and areas which provide unprecedented views of the ramp including the Airbus Delivery Centre.

In conjunction with Airbus, TAS Members will have the opportunity to participate in a “Panoramic” Airside Tour which gives excellent views of all the facilities (and aircraft) and what can only be described as a very comprehensive commentary of all the activities at each of the Production facilities… quite simply “This is how we build aeroplanes!”

During our time at Toulouse the group will see:- Aircraft production lines, the incredible Beluga operation, Aircraft rejected take off tests, aircraft first flights, aircraft test flights and customer delivery flights. All of these happen every day at this historical and unique aerodrome.

In Addition to all the Airbus traffic (of which there is plenty) the airport has a very busy schedule carrier, low cost and charter operation. Add to this ad hoc military flights and plenty of executive movements it’s one of those places that you just never know what you will see next!

Members will also be given opportunity to visit the on-site Museum (including Concorde) and participate in optional aerodrome visits to the ATR facility at Francazal, the Airbus storage and decommissioning Aerodrome at Tarbes and other airfields in the region. Toulouse centre is located only 3.6 miles from the airport so it’s easy to visit “the Pink City” and experience its famous culture, restaurants and night life if you wish.

The time of year we are visiting will enable “maximum light” for photography. However, if you like to enjoy your hobby whilst sampling some of the local restaurants and bars there are plenty located around the airfield which also provide spectacular views of   aircraft

Our flights have been planned to give us the maximum amount of time at the airfields:- Departing Manchester to Toulouse on the morning of Tuesday 17th September (Via Amsterdam) and returning late on Friday evening. This Tour is recommended for Photographers, Spotters and anyone who wants to experience first-hand the A-Z of how aircraft are constructed, test flown and delivered to customers.

The fully inclusive cost of this 4 day trip to Toulouse is just £495. We are keeping this tour at the same price as 2018. This includes – Flights, Hotels (Twin room), Airbus Tour and Car hire (petrol cost sharing).Single rooms are available at a supplement.
